[00:00:16] Here we go. [00:00:19] What's up, Dishers? How's it going? Welcome back to another episode of the Dish with T. Tish. [00:00:27] Oh, my God, you guys, I feel like I have had a defibrillator in this dreary. [00:00:36] January, February. What time is it? What month is it? I feel like, you know that thing if y' all watch 30 Rock, when Liz is like, oh, my God, what a year it's been. And Jack is like, it's January, Lemon. That's kind of how I feel. But today has given me so much life. Not even today. This week. [00:00:58] Okay. This week has been so crazy. It's funny, like, I initially was going to do, like, a pop culture recap of, like, 2016, because everyone's talking about 2016, and I was. Cause so much good stuff in pop culture happened, minus, you know, who ruining everything. But pop culture wise, it was kind of lit. It was kind of lit. So I was going to do a little recap, but then Monday happened, and, I mean, Instagram stories was popping, honey. The girlies were posting their tea on their Instagram stories. And I've actually got something to tell you guys. I am. [00:01:46] I have a terminal illness. [00:01:49] And it's that I love rich celebrity mess. I love their drama. [00:01:56] And it's. It's incurable. It's terminal. [00:02:01] And there's. Yeah, I'm just stuck with it for the rest of my life. I was born with it, baby. Maybe she's born with it. [00:02:09] Maybe she's Maybelline. [00:02:13] Maybe she's born with it. Maybe she's a gossip queen. But not even gossip queen, because it's more like just pop culture. You know, pop culture makes the world go round, and it is a good distraction from World War 3, which is why I'm doing this podcast and talking to you guys. And I definitely think that Brooklyn Beckham knew that we needed some. Some. Some tea because homeboy let it all air out. And if you are a listener or have been following the pod for a while, you know, I've kind of been talking about the Beckhams for a little bit because something has been a miss about what's going on in the family. They've been very distant from Brooklyn. And, yeah, he kind of aired it all out. [00:03:08] So if you thought I was going to do this podcast without doing a dramatic reading of these Instagram stories, you thought wrong. And if you've heard it, seen it, you can go ahead and fast forward, but it's gonna happen. [00:03:23] So here we go. [00:03:29] I've been silent for years and made Every effort to keep these matters private. [00:03:34] Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed. [00:03:46] I do not want to reconcile with my family. I'm not being controlled. I'm standing up for myself. For the first time in my life, I am getting a little Aussie bear with me. [00:03:57] For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into. [00:04:10] Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they'll go to to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people to preserve their facade. But I believe the truth always comes out. [00:04:25] My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship before my wedding and it hasn't stopped. [00:04:33] My mom canceled making Nicola's dress in the 11th hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress. [00:04:44] Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name which would have affected me, my wife and and our future children. [00:04:58] They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. [00:05:07] My hoed out affected the payday and they have never treated me the same since. During the wedding planning, my mom went so far as to call me evil. [00:05:17] Because Nicola and I chose to include nanny Sandra and Nicholas Nonni at our table because they both didn't have their husbands, both of our parents had their tables equally adjacent to us. [00:05:30] The night before our wedding, members of my family told me Nicola was not blood and not family. [00:05:36] Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I've received endless attacks from my parents both privately and publicly that was sent to the press on their orders. Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere. This last summer, my mom hijacked my first dance with my wife which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song in front of our 500 wedding guests. Marc Anthony called me to the stage where in the schedule was plan to be romantic dance with my wife, but instead my mom was waiting to dance with me instead. [00:06:24] She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. [00:06:29] I've never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. [00:06:36] We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding Day that bring us joy and happiness. [00:06:43] Non anxiety and embarrassment. My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we've tried to come together as one. My mom has repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable. [00:07:03] Despite this, we still traveled to London for my dad's birthday and were rejected. When? For a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him. He refused all of our attempts unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and a camera at every corner. [00:07:25] When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn't invited. It was a slap in the face. [00:07:34] Later, when my family traveled to la, they refuse to see me at all. [00:07:39] At all. Did you like that? [00:07:41] My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Bran Beckham comes first. [00:07:48] Family love is decided by how much you post on social media or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo op, even if it's at the expense of our professional obligations. [00:08:02] We've gone out of our way for years to show up and support at every fashion show, every party, and every press activity to show our perfect family. [00:08:13] But the one time my wife asked for my mom's support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mom refused. [00:08:22] The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards. I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. [00:08:30] I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared. [00:08:40] I wake up every morning grateful for the life that I chose and have found peace and relief. [00:08:47] My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press or manipulation. [00:08:52] All we want is peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future. Family unseen. [00:09:03] Thank you. [00:09:04] Thank you. [00:09:07] So that's what Brooklyn had to say about that. That's what he aired out. And you know, everything except for interpretation. You know, I do feel like I don't know exactly where I stand, but baseline, I think we all can agree that it's really sad that it's come to this. [00:09:27] For me, it's hard to grasp that just because through pop culture you're going to view everything through your lens, right? Like you are going to personalize it to some degree. And it's hard for me to fathom airing my family, putting my family on blast with millions of followers, you know, and I don't know that family dynamic. I'm close with my family, grateful for that but, you know, I've definitely noticed that there are people who admire Brooklyn for speaking his truth and getting out of the controlling thumb of his parents. And I've seen a lot of people's like, main reactions to the entire thing. It's just, I think honestly, they don't really care what what is happening. They're more excited that he's standing up for his wife. [00:10:24] Because entering a family like that, I mean, like I was saying, you're going to view stuff through your lens and this dynamic is something that exists. You know, you entering a family, you're marrying the firstborn son. [00:10:42] It's probably going to be a little bit of a hurdle. You know, like, if you have a great relationship with your in laws, you're lucky, but it's not always the case. [00:10:51] And, you know, specifically being the daughter in law of Victoria Beckham is probably not an easy thing. [00:11:03] And I think that people who are looking through that lens are just like down for Brooklyn because maybe they don't have a great relationship with their in laws. They feel like their partner didn't protect them against their in laws or it's resonating with them in such a way because of the family dynamics. And then there are people who feel like Nicola and her family are certainly the ones to blame and that Brooklyn's being brainwashed by them. [00:11:36] And then there's the middle ground, which is kind of where I am, where I'm like, it's all fucked. It's all just kind of crazy. So I'm trying to be as objective as possible, but let's go bang back to the beginning of Nicola and Brooklyn's relationship. [00:12:01] So they met at Coachella in 2017, and then two years later, they reconnected in a place where love really, they found love in a hopeless place. And that place was Leonardo DiCaprio's birthday party. [00:12:19] So that's where they officially got together in 2019. Then they went IG official in 2020, January 2020. [00:12:28] And by July of 2020, they were engaged. [00:12:32] Pandemic lockdown, Cooped up. [00:12:36] It be like that. And in 2022, they got married. [00:12:40] And maybe a month after the wedding, rumors started circulating about a feud between Victoria and Nicola. [00:12:48] And I mean, that is always kind of a thing, like I said, mother in law's dynamics. You know, stepping into a family that really is an institution. [00:13:02] Like we have like Buckingham palace in the royal family, and then we have the real royal family, which is the Beckhams. Okay. So rumors were circulating that there was some beef there, and then it really started becoming apparent in March of last year. [00:13:20] David had his 50th birthday party in Miami and notably Brooklyn and Nicola were nowhere to be found. [00:13:29] And then David had another 50th birthday party in London and they weren't there for that either. [00:13:36] And in August of last year, Brooklyn and Nicola renewed their vows and the family wasn't there for that either. [00:13:44] And after David's second birthday celebration, an article came out on People about how Victoria made Nicola cry at the wedding. And I'm going to go ahead and do a dramatic reading of that as well because the timing is extremely relevant. [00:14:00] So this is a People exclusive. [00:14:03] Victoria Beckham left son Brooklyn's bride Nicola Peltz in tears at their wedding after ruining dance Exclusive the source claims tensions between the couple finally came to a head after Victoria allegedly hijacked a dance at Brooklyn's Twitter 2022 Palm beach wedding to actress Nicola Peltz, even though the couple had been planning on dancing to the song together. Marc Anthony, who was a friend of the Beckhams, offered to perform as a gift at the wedding, the source explains. Before the song began, Marc Anthony asked Brooklyn to come to the stage and then announce the most beautiful woman in the room tonight. Come on up, Victoria Beckham. [00:14:50] The source claims that the new bride allegedly felt that Victoria ruined her wedding and couldn't understand why reps were Victoria and David and Anthony did not return PEOPLE's requests for comment. [00:15:03] A second insider adds that the entire room was so shocked that Anthony called Victoria's name over Nicholas that a complete silence followed. It was such a jaw dropping moment that it left the whole room in absolute shock. You could hear a pin drop. The second source adds guests were allegedly even more surprised when Victoria began slow dancing with her son. It wasn't appropriate, the source says at the alleged moment, adding that everyone then saw Nicola run from the room crying. Nicola felt that Victoria did this on purpose. She knew it was a pre planned romantic dance meant for Brooklyn and Nicola. [00:15:48] What she couldn't understand was why, but the contrary A source Another source who attended the wedding says the evening played out completely differently. For starters, this guest says Nicola and Brooklyn had their formal first dance earlier in the evening and she also had the traditional first dance with her father. [00:16:11] So it just feels like there's a major difference between saying that happened like your mom slow danced with you versus it ruined our first dance, you know, and it just seems like two completely different things. [00:16:33] So I'm a little confused by that. Mr. Mr. Brooklyn and one of the things that he said in his Instagram blast is that Victoria stopped making Nicola's dress in the 11th hour and she had to completely scramble for a new one. [00:16:52] And that's the narrative, he said, for the dress. And that's why everyone's breaking up this ancient text, AKA the Vogue article exclusive. And in that article, it specifically says that they have been working on Nicola's custom Valentino dress for over a year. So there's no scenario in which it's an 11th hour scramble with the combination of a year worth of conversations with Valentino, two trips to the headquarters in Rome, two US Fittings to make sure every detail was immaculate on the big day, from various sketches, fabrics, and embroideries to create Nicola's dream dress. [00:17:39] Now, I have seen a lot of people in the fashion world saying, like, for your average person, a year is a lot of time for this level, but for this level of couture, that could still technically be considered scrambling. I mean, I have zero experience when it comes to that yet, but it's just something to be a bullet point to be raised, if you will. And that article also outlines that they had their first dance to Fools Russian, the Elvis Presley song. And it mentioned that Marc Anthony comes on the stage later in the night. And in the article, it says it was. That it was at this point Brooklyn invited his mother on stage for a dance, and they were joined by David and his little sister, Harper. [00:18:40] So I don't. I don't. I. [00:18:45] I mean, I think can boil down to people having different interpretations or recollections of what actually went down. I mean, you know the old saying, there's your side, their side, and the truth. [00:19:02] But it's a lot of discrepancies in what Brooklyn is saying, so it's hard to be 10 toes down for him. And as I said earlier, I'm actively, like, forming my own opinions, you know, and I think that's like, the healthy, responsible thing to do, instead of just being like, I'm Team Beckham, I'm Team Brooklyn. You know, like, there's going to be more that comes out. So I'm trying to, like I said, form up an opinion and be as objective as possible. And, you know, there's nothing wrong with changing how you feel. I mean, that's Life. Like, it's 100% normal to feel this way one day, and then you find out more information and change your mind. Like, that's called critical thinking, which is a lost art these days. People are just so quick to be like, no, I hate that. I don't like them. And it's like, well, you don't have all the facts. You haven't sat with it, you know, And I do think that there's some truth on both sides, but my soul just doesn't. [00:20:12] It's, it's the Pelts of it all for me. It's her family. And you know, if Brooke Lynn was marrying like a Meghan Markle or like a Princess Diana, like a small town girl that was kind of like swept up into all of this and a whirlwind and everything was like, oh my God, this is crazy. Then that would be a different story. Then I would have way more empathy for Brooklyn and Nicola, you know, I can imagine feeling like pushed around and very like overwhelmed by being a Beckham, you know, like that would be a lot in terms of like a new family. But she comes from a very well to do family. Her father is a fucking billionaire. [00:21:02] So as one could argue, the Pelts are an institution of themselves. And let's talk about the Pelts, actually, because I, the father, I don't, I don't fuck with that man at all. Because, okay, so I don't know if you guys remember when Disney was up for sale. [00:21:21] Everyone's of course trying to get Disney, kind of like the Warner Brothers thing now. [00:21:26] And Nicola's father tried to do a hostile takeover of Disney. [00:21:33] And one of the things he said while he was trying to buy Disney was, I don't understand why there's an all black Marvel. [00:21:45] Why is there an all female marvel? I don't, I don't want that in my mcu. [00:21:50] So you lost me. Not to mention the Pelts are huge Trump supporters. They donated so much money to Trump, they actually had one of their engagement parties and one of the weddings in Palm beach so that Trump could attend. [00:22:12] So I'm not, I'm not belief in the little doe eyed, like, my God, I can't believe this. Like, I just love my husband. Like, I'm not buying it. [00:22:28] So there's that like her family is not. Ew, gross. [00:22:34] And also, yeah, they're Trump supporters. So fuck that. [00:22:39] Like there's nothing else to say. [00:22:42] But another thing is. [00:22:46] So one of the accounts when I was doing my research, I was just looking up, you know, what people are saying about it. What's the tea? And Alana Hadid entered the chat and Lana is the older sister of Anwar, Gigi and Bella. [00:23:05] And she commented and said, privacy, this chick has been trying to be famous for over a decade. [00:23:15] And then someone replied to her comment and said, yeah, didn't she try to do the same thing to your brother? And she liked that comment. [00:23:26] So, like I said, I don't bel. I'm not buying it. Like, I do believe that there's truth in both sides. I'm sure. You know, it was really hard to grow up being a Beckham. [00:23:42] Like, especially being the firstborn, being the eldest. There's already that added pressure, right? [00:23:49] Being, you know, kind of a flop in all of your careers. [00:23:54] Because, like, respectfully, girl, you. [00:23:58] I've seen that man cut a grilled cheese, and I can't trust him. I can't. I'm sorry. You're trying to be a chef, and you're cut. You're cutting a grilled cheese like that. That's diabolical. I can't trust you. [00:24:13] And it was easy. [00:24:15] You were cool with being a Beckham when it served you, when you were getting these Burberry campaigns and being a photographer for Vogue, because you also were doing that. But then you got axed because you were a bad photographer, too. [00:24:32] So it's hard because I, like I said, I understand having that public Persona. [00:24:39] They are an institution. The Beckhams, like, are the royal family. I get that. But at the same time, it's also giving Nepo baby temper tantrum, because you've never had any adversity in your life, and you're kind of just, like, having a moment. And what it's giving to me is like, I know Victoria and David are very rich, but they do come from working class, and they also have pretty diverse, like, relationships with people. Like, they've collaborated with all kinds of people, and they probably don't want to be affiliated with Trump. They. I can guarantee you, they were like, brooklyn, you don't want to get involved with this girl. Like, you don't know what's going on in America. This guy is really bad. He's really bad. And he was like, no, Mom, Dad, I love her. No, you can't make me. And they were like, no, you've been a terrible photographer. You can't cut a grilled cheese. You're not marrying her. And he was like, watch, watch. I'm going to marry this bird. And I love her. I'm actually going to take her last name. [00:25:56] So that's just what it's giving to me. [00:26:00] But like I said, I'm being objective. But that's. That's what I. I am feeling. [00:26:10] And, you know, yeah, Brooklyn felt empowered to stand up against his family, and it's just sad. That he felt that that was the way to do it. And another thing, he inadvertently tattletaled on himself because one of the things he said in his story, he was saying all these stories have come out regarding the feud or potential issues with the family are coming from David and Victoria trying to control the narrative. Whereas, like, everything we've seen has painted the Beckhams in a pretty negative light. [00:26:45] And if you go through a lot of these articles, most of them are coming from a Pelt source or a source close to Nicola, Brooklyn or the Pelts. [00:26:56] And it's just fascinating thing for Brooklyn to point this out in the Instagram stories and everything in the media to a certain degree. [00:27:10] It's kind of like the Pelt sources, because the Beckhams definitely aren't planting stories about Victoria making Nicola cry at her wedding and her dancing inappropriately on her son. So he did kind of tattle. He kind of inadvertently confirmed that him and his wife and her family were giving these stories to the press about his family. [00:27:36] So, you know, I just am like, I. [00:27:41] It's wild that you thought that that was your. [00:27:45] Your way of showing them and your approach to confronting your family. It's really sad. And again, I think he's 25, 26. [00:27:54] The lobe is not developed. The frontal lobe is in the back. We need to get it up front. It needs to be locked in because it's not my boy. Brooklyn is down bad. [00:28:09] But I hope that there can be resolution because, I mean, the end of the day, it is just like a sad. It's sad. It's sad. Yeah. I feel bad, especially because they have a young daughter that. That sucks that, like, kids are involved, you know, and they're all so young. [00:28:25] So we'll. [00:28:26] We'll see. [00:28:28] We'll see. I'll keep you posted. [00:28:33] Speaking. Okay, so another Instagram story that had the opposite effect of this one as of being sad. It was like, this is dawning at the Age of Aquarius. [00:28:50] Amanda Petula and Kyle Cooke are done so from Summer House. And I'm just like, thank you, Glory. Glory Girl. [00:29:01] Like, oh, my. I'm just so relieved because Amanda is such a catch. She's a total package. Like, she's one of the few reality stars I actually feel like I would hang out with and be friends with and, like, have a good time. She's such, like, a girl's girl. [00:29:21] She's really loyal. I mean, she's been putting up with Kyle for 10 years, and she's been trying to start a family. She just wants him to come home after work and then he starts a DJ career. Once he started DJing, I was like, oh, that's the nail in the coffin. What do you mean? You're DJing and you're. You're pushing 50 and you want to start a DJ career, girl, you sleeping at fans houses because you don't want to come home, girl. [00:29:54] And meanwhile, your wife is, like, literally doing designs for your drink company and holding it down, doing your social media, and you don't want to, like, nut up. I think Kyle really fumbled the bag because you are not going to find anyone more patient for your ass than Amanda. All these little Bravo fans and, like, Instagram girlies. I. I doubt you are ever going to find someone that holds you down like Amanda. Like, you fumbled that so hard, and she's a baddie on top of that. [00:30:32] Not to be, like, weird, but she literally has some of the best boobs ever. She literally started a bathing suit line because, like, she's so petite, but she's got huge knockers. [00:30:45] She's got tickle bitties. And it's like, you really fumbled that, Kyle, to be a dj, to be a reality star. You could have just, like, been an adult and just started accepting that you're 50 and settle down. [00:31:04] I just am like, I and he that up. So I'm glad she saw the light. I hope. I wish them both well. I don't hate Kyle at all. Like, there are moments where I do like him, but without Amanda, like, single Kyle. [00:31:21] That's scary. And it's also so interesting because this is like the third season now where a couple breaks up, and we know it happened post. So it's always fun to watch the season and be like, oh, that was. Yep. Huh. That was it. Because first it was Carl and Lindsay, and then it was Paige and Craig, and now Amanda and Kyle. It's gonna be like, ooh, yeah, saw that. Yeah, that's the end of that. [00:31:52] But if you watch the show, you know, it's been a long time coming, honey. A long time coming. [00:32:00] And okay, I don't know if this is necessarily a long time coming, but the Queer Eye stuff is a little crazy. [00:32:09] I guess it kind of started with the Bobby stuff. Yeah. When Bobby left Queer Eye, there was definitely some like, oh, something is not something happened here. [00:32:21] You know, and he never outright said it, but Karamo definitely it was noticed. So Karamo, the new season of Queer Eyes coming out. So they've been doing the morning show circuit, going on talk shows and stuff, and Karamo was noticeably Missing from the CBS Morning show and the Today show and the Fab Five were there to promote. And Karamo sent in a statement to the Today show, and it said, quote, karamo has felt mentally and emotionally abused for years. He's been advised by his therapist to protect himself and his peace by not attending. [00:33:09] That's not good. And then he sent in a video basically talking about, like, how he's using the tools that he gives everyone else for himself, and that's why he didn't show up. [00:33:26] And he was. He. He didn't say anything, like, outright negative, but it was like, okay, not mentally and emotionally abused, honey. And then it came out, allegedly there was a hot mic moment, and that's the straw that broke the camel's back. [00:33:49] So they were filming in Washington, D.C. season 10, and Karamo brought his mom to the set to, you know, see them in action, right? [00:34:00] And while they were filming, she was given production headphones to, like, you know, when you're on set, you can hear what's going on with the mics and everything. And Karamo stepped away, and Jonathan Tan and Anthony were overheard basically talking shit about Karamo and talking about, like, his lifestyle choices and, like, personal pretty nasty things. And his mother had the headphones on. [00:34:34] So what does any good mother do? She immediately told her son. She told him the tea, and I guess that's. That's allegedly what happened. [00:34:49] And that just bumps me out. [00:34:52] It bumps me out because they're supposed to be, you know, the Fab Five, who have brought so much joy and harmony, and they just seemed so. Like, when it was good, it was so good. Like, I could not watch in one episode without sobbing. Like the beginning, I was so invested. Loved it. And then the Bobby stuff happened, and I was like, oh, that kind of tarnished it a little bit. And now this. I'm like, damn, that's such a bummer. And I wonder who is the cunt? You know, like, is it jvn? [00:35:29] Is he a little. [00:35:30] Is it tan? [00:35:32] Is it Anthony? Or are they all, like, together? I don't know. What do you guys think? [00:35:39] I don't know. I feel like it's tan. [00:35:42] I can see Tad being a little bitch. And then they all get. You know how you have that one. [00:35:47] You know how you have that friend who's like, that talker, and you're like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, that one friend that gets you activated, and you're like, yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:35:56] But I don't know, it just. It makes me sad because I loved them, and I just, like, can't the gays get along? Damn. Like, everyone else is fighting us and trying to separate us and break us down. Why are we doing that to each other? [00:36:13] Why you gotta bring the black man down? [00:36:15] Hate that. [00:36:17] Hate that. [00:36:18] But something. I love the Oscar nominations. [00:36:25] So the Oscar noms were today. And they were. I mean, if you followed the Instagram, you saw an emotional mourning because Sinners. [00:36:40] Sinners made history with the Academy award nominations with 16 nominations. And it really just. [00:36:54] I. [00:36:58] I'm just so happy that it was acknowledged and they got the recognition that they so rightfully deserve for this movie because it is such a. [00:37:11] It really is a work of art that will transcend genre film race. It's just such a beautiful work of art that, I mean, the first time I saw it, I really was. I could not even talk about it. And I still get emotional when I think about it because it is just so amazing. And I'm so inspired by Ryan. Like, Ryan Coogler is just that guy. He's just that guy to start with. You know, the. [00:37:52] And I actually was having this conversation the other day about the Marvel effect. It's interesting that so. [00:38:00] So many writers or directors have done Marvel stuff and then they've gone on to just flourish, you know, like, they're in these huge contracts and so constricted with the Marvel. You know, Black Panther was the first, like, comic book movie to be nominated for best picture because, again, it was more than just a superhero movie. You know, it's. Black Panther is up there with the Dark Knight of Just like, this is not a superhero movie. This is like real life. This is some real shit. [00:38:37] And to go from Fruitville Station to Black Panther to Creed and now, you know, to Sinners, it's just really cool to see the trajectory of people post Marvel. Even Chloe Zhao, you know, like, I know people hated Eternals. I didn't hate it. I think Chloe is definitely a certain type of director. And I also love that her and Ryan are so close. Like, her Golden Globe speech, so sweet. Just basically dedicated to him and giving him his flowers because they played in his fucking face. [00:39:19] And I did hate Eternals. Her work breathes a little more, and I appreciate that. [00:39:28] And she's nominated for Hamnet and even Nia Dacosta with Bone Temple, which we are going to get into. [00:39:37] Who did the Marvels, which is Marvel's biggest flop, if you will. [00:39:43] And seeing the work that she has done post, it's just very interesting to see how they are without Marvel and how they really just, like, fly it's really just like, I know why the caged bird sings. And it's because they had to make a Marvel movie. [00:40:04] And now it's released and it's able to soar and make the art that they were born to make. So all that to say Sinner's record breaking 16 nominations of all time beat the record, which was 14, which was held by All About Eve, Titanic and La La Land. [00:40:28] And it went to the University of Kuntology and it shat in the mother toilet. How about that? And they got all. They got all of the nominations, every single one. And they better get some. It's not gonna be an Amelia Perez situation. [00:40:49] Don't try it, Academy, because we. Girl, we already went through Oscars so white. And at your big age of 98. [00:40:58] Don't fuck with us, fellas. Don't do it. [00:41:03] But there were also some. [00:41:06] Some more nominations. We had one battle after another. Has 13 nominations, which. Pretty excited about that. I love that. [00:41:16] I know. It's a very. [00:41:18] I've noticed that it is becoming a very polarizing moment movie. I have talked to some friends about it who. [00:41:27] One of my friends called it one fetish after another. And I was like, damn, that's real. And they were like, I think it's going to age like green book. And I was like, damn, that's fucked up. [00:41:41] That's nasty. [00:41:43] I. [00:41:45] Yeah. [00:41:47] So I know it's polarizing. I will say, I do think that Chase should have been nominated. [00:41:57] I'm happy that Emma Stone made it into it because I did really enjoy Begonia a lot and Emma Stone is incredible in every single thing that she does. But I do think that, I mean, like I said, if you saw the Instagram reel I meet, I made there needs to be a breakthrough artist actor award because there were so many breakouts this year and none of them were nominated. [00:42:27] Chase wasn't nominated. [00:42:30] Miles wasn't nominated. Jacoby wasn't nominated. [00:42:34] Another big snub. Wicked iced out. [00:42:38] Wicked was iced out. [00:42:40] And honestly, I kind of get it. I do. [00:42:47] For a few reasons. The second half didn't live up to the first half, unfortunately. [00:42:54] I thought Ariana was great. She definitely made the movie. But I do feel that it just didn't hold up the same as the first part. [00:43:07] Sad for Paul because, I mean, the costumes, he won last year, but, yeah, they didn't get anything. [00:43:18] Another one, Paul Mescal, was not nominated. Honestly, it was hard for the supporting because there were so many incredible supporting performances this year. I mean, it's really stacked up and we have a tie with Frankenstein, Marty supreme and Sentimental Value for nine nominations. [00:43:45] Sentimental Value got a lot of the supporting nominations with Stellan Skarsgrd, Elle Fanning, Frankenstein we knew was gonna get a lot for the effects. [00:44:00] Marty supreme got a lot too. More so for like the production design and like the BTS stuff, I'm really excited. I, I can't wait to see how it's gonna unfold. Oh, another F1 girl. Where'd she come from? [00:44:18] F1. I. I need to re. Watch her because I watched it when it came out and like, I was like, okay, I wasn't, I didn't walk away, like, that's gonna be nominated for best picture. [00:44:33] So I need to revisit F1. I knew for, you know, the effects and the sound and all that, but I was gagged. I was actually gagged. I was like, really? Her? That's crazy. Oh, and we got casting, the first casting. [00:44:49] So, yeah, there's, there's a few. [00:44:51] It's going to be a fun ceremony and I am excited to see how this award season is going to keep unfolding. [00:45:02] I'm just. I swear to God, if they, if they do it, I don't know, I don't know you guys, if they really play in our fucking face like that, I'm a beat because it's just, it just if you want people, people have stopped watching because it's either the people, they know that the stuff that they like isn't going to be nominated. They know that the stuff that they like may be nominated but isn't going to win. If you want people to watch, you have to give recognition to what the people want. Like you. There can be both. Like, yes, the, the Academy can still have its standard, but you can also honor what people want to see. [00:45:51] You know, and I've literally been saying it since I saw it, that Sinners is that girl. She's that girl and Ryan is that guy. And what he was able to do with this movie, not only just the movie itself, even the, the deal that he came up with for himself with Warner Brothers, like, that's major. He is the only person who has ever had a deal like that where in 25 years he will own the rights to Sinners. And that was something that was non negotiable for him. He's going to get that back and that's fucking dope. And I know a lot of people are turning their noses at it and feel some kind of way because a, It's a black movie, you know, it's a black man. Black male. Written, directed, lead. [00:46:48] And look who's running our country. [00:46:52] You know, I just think that there should be some recognition there because, like I said, Oscar, so white was in 2015, so. [00:47:02] Girl, you almost 100. Get your shit together. Don't fuck this up. Please, please. [00:47:09] Oh, God. [00:47:11] Well, I don't know about you guys, but I'm hungry, so let's get into some of our dishes. [00:47:22] What's that? Crazy. [00:47:35] My appetizer this week is a little show, a little award winning show called the Pit. [00:47:44] Oh, my God, the Pit came back. [00:47:49] Girl, you could tell they got that Emmy money now because it. Whoo. Ciao. [00:47:55] Some of them scenes, it was worse than watching a horror movie. [00:47:59] Like, I was like, oh, my God. I bet doctors probably love horror movies because they're like, oh, that's nothing compared to what I have to see. There was a scene where they opened the hood and I almost blacked out. I was like, what the fuck? Oh, my God. It was crazy, but it's so good. I. [00:48:19] What's to be said about that show that hasn't been said already? It is really. You know, I know we were so fatigued with procedural medical shows after Grey's Anatomy and er, but this is just so different. I love the. [00:48:37] It's the shift for me. The every episode being an hour in the shift, that really. [00:48:44] Oh, it does it for me. And this cast is so good. The writing, everything, like, you could tell it's made by people who. Who really work in the medical industry. And it. I mean, and Noah, not too bad on the eyes. Okay. [00:49:07] He's so cute and he's so talented. I just obsessed. It's so good. So that definitely was my appetizer for the week. [00:49:18] My main course, it's kind of hard to chew on because it's full of bones, but the bone temple, oh, my God. [00:49:33] Fuck the bone temple, you guys. [00:49:36] It really turned me out. It really got me together. Seeing that on opening weekend, it's just one of those things. It reminded me of why I go to the movies. There were two scenes in particular where the audience was so excited. I won't do spoilers because it just came out. I won't do spoilers. But if, you know, you know, Iron Maiden and the ending. [00:50:05] That's all I'm gonna say. [00:50:07] But it's just so good. And how. I was talking about the Marvel effect earlier. Nia dacosta, who is a black woman, I might add, a black female director who directed the Marvels, just got shat on for that even though it was pretty good, people just are sexist and misogynistic and racist. Misogynoir. [00:50:31] But I've been since Candyman. I was like, oh, she's one to watch. And this movie is so good. Like, I feel that 28 years later is so much about grief and loss and. And this movie is so much about therapy and medication and how just like, talking to someone about your feelings can go a long way. And like psychosis, it's just such a metaphor for so much. I'm obsessed with Alex Garland, the writer. [00:51:07] He wrote the whole trilogy of these movies because there's another one coming. [00:51:12] There was 28 years later at the Bone Temple, and then there's another one, and he wrote Civil War. [00:51:19] And just the way that he's able to do themes with modern day commentary is so, so good. Oh, my God, he is amazing. And one day he'll be at the Oscars because he's such a good fucking writer. He's so talented. [00:51:39] So, yeah, that's my main course. [00:51:42] I got a few bones stuck in my teeth. [00:51:46] And then my dessert is the Traitors. [00:51:50] Oh. [00:51:52] And it's my dessert because I'm sweet on Rob. [00:51:56] Rob is. Oh, it's funny because I watched. [00:52:00] I mean, y' all know I love Love island and his season. [00:52:06] I started liking him and then I started hating him, and then I went back to kind of liking him again. And then I was just indifferent about him. And now I'm so horny for him. And he knows what he's doing when he's wearing those overalls and he's like, oh, my God, man, he's so hot. He's so hot. [00:52:27] And something this season is so much fun because I root at the end of the day, I'm always rooting for the traitors. [00:52:35] Always. They have a way harder job because it's like living a double life. [00:52:41] And I can imagine the pressure cooker that is there. So I'm always rooting for the Traders. And last season, the fact that they all hated each other, it was so annoying and hard to watch. But now watching the Faithfuls cannibalize on each other, I'm like, period. [00:52:59] Let's go. And this round of Traitors is so good. I mean, Rob is. [00:53:06] I could see him going all the way because he has such a good poker face because he's just like, whatever. [00:53:16] Candace is basically Bob with hair. Bob with a vagina, because Bob did get a hair transplant. So Bob has hair now, but it's basically Bob with the vagina. [00:53:30] Like, she is very vocal, which can be a blessing. [00:53:35] I don't. I don't know, because if you ever stop talking, they're going to know it's you. You know, I do think it's good because when you are too quiet, like, what's going on with Lisa Rinna? They're like, isn't she usually more animated? And they're like, yeah, she has been awfully quiet. Then it's like, okay, something's going on. [00:53:56] So I think coming in, just like, cool as a cucumber. Like, Rob, that's the way to do it. [00:54:04] And now Michael Rappaport has gone. Hey, thank God. [00:54:09] So now it'll be tolerable. And now it can, like, really be fun and enjoyable. [00:54:16] And I just. I love it. I love it so much. Always team trader over here. [00:54:25] But I'm not a trader in real life. [00:54:29] I'm real. [00:54:31] And that's all I have to say. [00:54:36] And wow. And just like that, I'm fed and horny. Thinking about Rob? [00:54:46] No. But I'm really happy. We've got some really fun stuff coming up for the Dish. [00:54:52] I'm hosting an Oscar party. [00:54:55] Like an event. You guys, if you're in Chicago, you have to come. We're having an Oscar party. [00:55:04] Details to come. Stay tuned. It's going to be crazy and fun and glamorous and very Dish Tish coated. [00:55:15] So stay tuned for that. We've got. Yeah, we've got some good stuff coming up. And. Oh, there's so much happening, and I'm so excited. [00:55:26] Oh, wow, man. Oh, well, stay warm out there. And thanks for listening to another episode of the Dish with Tish. I'll see you guys very soon. Soon. [00:55:40] I love you. Goodbye. [00:55:45] Bye. Thanks for listening.
